Question: Hi
My 19 yrs old son complain of burning throat that started 3 yes back after resp viral infection.
All investigation done all ok , except some esophagitis , he stared nexium he is btr but still having burning throat pain .
Allergy test negative . He feel better in low dose of aminitryptilin (elavil)
I read about lpr , LSN and pvvn .
All related to vagus nerve pain post viral infection .
Curopractic whom I trust told me about cold laser therapy for bellys palsy and trigiminal neuralgia that it's very helpful with excellent results .
And if safe with no side effects , why not to try it for his throat neuralgia, since if it didn't help it won't harm .
My question :
Any experience with cold laser therapy effectiveness for such cases, and is it safe to use it for throat burning , and won't back fire .

Brief Answer:
Glossopharyngeal neuralgia

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
Burning sensation in throat is usually due to reflux disease but if any local cause is ruled out, neuralgia can be the cause. It can be due to styalgia or just glossopharyngeal neuralgia. Get a radiological assessment of styloid process done. The further management will depend on the reports.
Medical management of neuralgia can also be done. You should consult a neurologist for that.
I can suggest you better after I see your reports. Also send me the pictures of your throat.
Take care
Thanks and regards
