Question : My vagina has been burning on and off for the past few weeks... can HPV cause this, even if there are no visible bumps? I've never been diagnosed for it.
Brief Answer:
HPV unlikely.Yeast infection to be rued out
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
HPV infection would not produce symptoms in early stages.
Burning sensation of vagina could possibly be due to an yeast infection vagina or some allergic reaction due to applications like douche, soaps, creams etc. Yeast infection can be detected by examination and also through investigations done on vaginal secretions. Pregnancy, Diabetes, Oral Contraceptives and drugs like steroids and antibiotics can precipitate yeast infection

Thank you very much... glad to know that HPV is unlikely the problem.
So HPV would not cause burning similar to a yeast infection? I was given antibiotics for a UTI that doesn't seem to be working... can UTI cause yeast like burning as well?
Thank you again for your help.

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics taken for UTI lead to yeast infection and burning.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
HPV would not cause burning vagina unless it is meddled with some treatment intervention.
UTI as itself is not a reason for vaginal burning, but antibiotics taken for UTI might lead to a flare up of yeast infection which in turn leads to itching genitals, again leads to scratching and burning while urination.
