Question : Hi doctor I have burning tingling in my feet and hands and now I have sore wrist fingers and toes. Neurologist I saw a year ago said its from either diabetes even though my diabetes is under control or genetic. I had a blood test for autoimmune disease it came back positive for lupus my family doctor said I haven't got it as I have no other signs. I've just started having pain in left rib as well.

Sounds like arthritis in the back and beck
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Usually diabetes causes problems in the hands only after it had reached they knees in the legs making diabetes less likely. only one lab test and your age make lupus less likely but not impossible. by far the most common reason in your age group is arthritis if the back and neck especially if you have buttock and shoulder pain. The treatments available include oral medications such as lyrica but they don't work very well. Injections and surgery are te best treatments after physical therapy but are more invasive.
