What Causes Cerebral Bleed On Right Side Of Back Of Brain?

Question: I was recently in hospital due to sudden numbness on left side of my body, head to toe. CT and MRI showed a 1.7 cm bleed on back rt side of my brain, but had stopped bleeding. I was kept for 3 days where they monitored my BP, which was perfect, blood work came back perfect. Symptoms have lessened to a mild tingle.
However, doctors had no answers and let me go home.
I am back to work w/ my Sales job. Concerned about what more I should do or not do???

You have recently had a cerebral bleed for unknown causes. The most common cause of this type of bleed is an elevated blood pressure. This in combination with using blood thinners like aspirin will elevate one's risk of bleed.

I recommend that you purchase a blood pressure cuff and monitor your blood pressure daily. Keep a record and show it to your doctor at your routine visits. your blood pressure should never go above 140 on the top number and 90 on the bottom number.

I also recommend you avoid medications that can cause thinning of the blood. This would include Aspirin and most non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, vitamin E and several OTC natural supplements.

Included in this you must maintain good health. Exercise regularly, eat a well balanced diet low in fat, loss weight if you are overweight. If you have cholesterol problems keep you cholesterol levels LDL < 100.

In summary
1. Maintain normal blood pressure
2. Avoid aspirin NSAIDs and Vitamin E
3. Exercise daily
4. Eat a balanced diet
5. Watch your cholesterol levels and maintain LDL < 100
