Question : Noticed some symptoms lately that I'm starting to wonder if they are normal aging. I get frequent "Charles horse" spasms in my toes, usually late at night. Lower legs swell sometimes at night but it typically goes away before morning. Also had a small lump on the back of my leg about 4 inches above the ankle. Now I have a second one showing on the side of my other leg about 3 inches above the ankle. Don't recall any type of bite recently. Not sure if this is normal.

Brief Answer:
It can be bursitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you are having two problem.
1.Spasm in night is mostly due to salt deficiency, calcium and vitamin D deficiency. So I would suggest you to increase salt intake, specially drink one tea spoon salt in glass of water at night time.
Take calcium, vitamin D3 daily .
2.Bump at ankle can be bursitis. For this you need to get x ray of the ankle as it can be due to bony spur. Usually it is common in diabetics. It needs hot water fomentation, steroid injection to take care of this.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
