Question : At gym yesterday while exercising I experienced chest pains, painful breathing, and numb hands. I quit and came home and rested. Several hours before numbness in hands disappeared. Was this a cardiac event? Should I try to exercise today?

Brief Answer:
Please get an electrocardiogram(ECG) done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient, I would have asked you to get an electrocardiogram (ECG) done straightaway. Though, numbness of hands is slight atypical for a cardiac event but with sudden onset chest pain on exertion and painful breathing, it can be a possibility. Please visit a physician urgently, get yourself physically examined and get an ECG done. If he finds any abnormality in lungs auscultation, he may also get a chest x-ray done. Also, get monitored your blood pressure, pulse and blood sugar.

Please follow up with the scanned image of reports. Don't get on exercises unless you get yourself evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have some follow up queries, I shall be glad to answer else, please close the thread-rate it and write a review.
