Question : My daughter is 9 years old. For the past 1 1/2 years, she has a problem. She often keeps her hand and presses in her urinary area. When, I ask her the reason, she says that she is something different. Sometimes , she says its itching, sometimes she says some chillness she is feeling around that area. She says that she can't express that feeling. She can't avoid pressing that area. Nowadays, it has increased a lot and i'm really worried. Is it a habit or is it sometype of infection? Pl. clarify. Do I need to take any urine test?

.Based on the symptoms that your 9 years old daughter has habit of keeping her hand over private parts .

This can not be considered to be habitual unless proved otherwise by ruling it out to be due to any organic cause .

You need to consult qualified Gynecologist for clinical examination .\If needed she may ask for opinion of a Urologist .

In the mean while you can get her routine urine test and urine culture done to rule out UTI. so that she can be given appropriate antibiotics .

Thanks for ur reply. I am really worried now. Can you pls suggest a good gynecologist to find a solution for my daughter's problem.

Is this a major issue? My heart is very heavy now. Please help. I am really worried about my daughter for consulting a gynecologist at this age itself.
