Question : Hi, I have had flu like systems since Sunday evening. About every 4 of so hours I get chills and later seat. I sweat more during the night. I don't have a temperature, no pain any where. I don't have much of an appetite. I'm trying to drink liquids but, I should be drinking more. Late yesterday evening I felt good and was thinking this is the end of this, I didn't seem to get chills that evening but, I did sweat. I hope this isn't anything more serious. I may go to Urgent Care and see if there is any kind of antibiotic they can give me. I know they don't like to give an antibiotic if you do not have a temperature.l
Brief Answer:
Observe more. No urgent care for now!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed them and they are truly suggestive of a flu. Treatment of a flu is primarily rest, increased fluids and management of fever and aches with tylenol. Antibiotics only come in when you develop a complication from a bacterial infection. You do not need an antibiotic at this time.
Your disease evolution is not concerning and there is no reason to panic. Be calm, observe only, drink much fluid and eat healthy, rest and tylenol if aches..
I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
