Brief Answer:
How often does this happens?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this choking and vomiting. I will like to know the frequency of this and for how long it has been going on. If it just started, then I Will say observe only, collect more information and will work on. Most short term choking and vomiting are actually not caused by a particular disease and they usually resolve spontaneously.

If it has been happening for long, it may suggest that the swallowing reflex is faulty and allows food into the windpipe which causes this. In this case, it will be necessary to see an ENT specialist for further evaluation and management.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

About a year or two ago it was happening pretty often but it has been a while. I was concerned because of the mucas and thought it may be something else.

Brief Answer:
I will say get this evaluated by an ENT specialist!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Seen the duration and its repetitive nature, I will suggest that you go ahead and get some evaluation done by an ENT specialist. This way, we will be sure that there is nothing we are missing out on at this time.

Let me know what you think about this. Until next, I wish you well.
