Brief Answer: Consult a Psychiatrist Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for posting your query on this forum. I can fully understand what you are passing through. Your symptoms suggest that you are suffering from Chronic Anxiety with frequent acute panic reactions. It may either be inherent or, following constant mental stress. You will certainly feel much better with a long-term course of anti-anxiety drugs. There are several drugs- some of which are Escitalopram, clonazepam or alprazolam- which are very effective in treating anxiety/acute panic attacks. These medicines are available ONLY on prescription. So, consult a Psychiatrist and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and prescribe suitable treatment as advised. Hope I have addressed your concerns to your complete satisfaction and you find my response helpful and informative. I will be happy to answer further queries, if any. Take care, Col (Dr.) Rakesh Karanwal
