What Causes Chronic Night Sweats?

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Sep 2015
Question: I sweat a lot in sleep at night. It is all my head that sometimes just drips and makes my pillow completely wet. Room temperature makes no difference and covers don’t matter either.
This condition has been going on for several years now.

Brief Answer:
Hyperthyroidism and chronic infections should be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Hyperthyroidism and presence of any chronic infections in the body should be ruled out. Such conditions and even hypertension as well as uncontrolled diabetes can give such symptoms. Thyroid profile and blood routine should be done. This will help to rule out possibility of infections and hyperthyroidism. Chronic infections like sinusitis can give night sweats also.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if any thing not clear.
Thanks.
