What Causes Chronic Pain After Hernia Repair Surgery?

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Question: Hi, we spoke of you and the information to the army leadership; I'm going to try cognitive behavior; too many doctors avoid wanting to address issues. I read about a blind loop, however. Would this be something I could have? The surgeon who did the hernia repair said He just pushes intestines in, covers up; mesh, etc. I'd say life is pretty pitiful especially feeling bm go through, but, dealing with and trying to make a doctor understand, especially since symptoms appeared right after and only attention was drugs. I'm spent. But interested in your answer. Hope you've been blessed since I last wrote.

Brief Answer:
Apparently not a blind loop syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for all the faith you have in my words

Unless I know exactly what was removed and what was anastomosed I can not justify it being a blind loop syndrome. So if possible please send the details of the procedure and surgery notes if available.

Yes the hernia repair involves pushing in intestine and performing a tension free mesh repair

Please do not give up, keep your morals high and am sure you will be out

I have seen patients improving once they generate a strong will and positive attitude

Am much better and improving
Regards

I've had a strong will and good attitude for very long, but, MVA chronic pain keeps getting addressed. I will send the report again but things have changed. As I told you, when the BM goes through the transverse and descending colon, the pain is great and size is large. I do not have incontinence; but, the size is immense. None of this before the last colonostomy where I felt like a war was going on after he did it. It seems you would need the view, but, I'll send the notes. Problem is, the surgeon's notes and what he actually did are questionable. The surgeon who did the hernia repair has his notes on a CD.
See attached, please.

Brief Answer:
Good you are willing to give a tough fight

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I can understand your agony
The feeling of bowel movements is probably due to adhesions which occur due to multiple surgeries

The attachment has instructions and details for colonoscopy and not the reports

It would be better if you upload the reports you have on CD

Regards

Sorry. Tough fight is about over. When a dr tells me he doesn't want to get mixed up,in my mess. It's discouraging. Have you ever corrected a bad surgery? Remember, one surgery was approved; correction of that surgery and colorectal/hernia another surgery. Do u want colorectal surgery report or Hernia? I don't know if I can open cd and no written report from hernia repair. Anger gets out of control. I was told being off opiates would make things better. Not so.

Wise man, but, I tell you with complete honesty, I got lost in the cracks; for 20 months after the surgeries, I reported symptoms, but, because of MVA, i was not checked but drugged. I know. The past is not important, but, this is so out of control, it is insurmountable. I will contact Mayo for records. Thank you, kind doctor. I ask questions; it drives me nuts to not know what is going on. Perfectly fine abdomen; colon; makes no sense to me. I would never XXXXXXX but I reported the surgeon to several Bureaus. I hope he never cuts on anyone. Mistakes are made, but, loss of integrity; there's no excuse. Blessings sent your way.
So much looseness under repair. This began after the colonoscopy. Last MRI looks like a healthy 40 year old; that seems strange to me. My best

Brief Answer:
Will Await Reports

Detailed Answer:
It would be of great help if you can get the reports from the operating surgeon

A healthy doctor patient relationship is the foundation of private practice

To err is human, there are instances when things go out of control and it is not intentional but what is wrong is not attending the patient after something goes wrong

If you could get a medical person who can summarize all the reports and investigations chronologically it would be a challenging case and will surely draw attention of experts during a discussion
