What Causes Chronic Throat Clearing After Eating?

Question: Hello, the main problem I'm having and have been having is clearing my throat constantly, especially after eating, but almost at all times. It's important to note that this has been happening for almost 8 years, since I was around 18, and nothing's made it go away(changed eating habits, exercising). I've been to the doctor but haven't gotten any answers. There's definitely phlegm if I cough up what's in my throat rather than just clear my throat.
I just want to know how serious I should take this. I've done ct scans of my chest and lungs before with fairly normal based on what the doctor said. Any doctor willing to give suggestions would be great.
I am 5'11, 180 lb, 26yo

Brief Answer:
Since all tests are normal, there is no need to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I would like to know if beside collection of phlegm in the throat you have any other symptoms like cough, breathing difficulty, acidity or any known allergies. Are you a smoker? At times if a patient has allergies or is a smoker, he may have some phlegm collection in the throat.
If you have none of the above, you need not worry since you have already undergone necessary tests. It may also be a matter of habit.
Some deep breathing exercises may help.
Take care.

Hello! thanks for the reply. no coughing. Non-smoker. I don't have breathing difficulty, but was diagnosed to have very mild Astma(this was back in high school). Other than that, nothing. I do have to swallow the phlegm every once in a while and it's disgusting.
thanks again for your reply.

Brief Answer:
It is allergy.
Detailed Answer:
You have a history of bronchial asthma in the past which is because of allergy. Your present symptom is also a result allergy as I had already mentioned in my answer earlier. Allery causes inflammation which may lead to production of more than usual sputum.
You may take a tablet of montair lc which is an anti allergen.
You may also consult a ENT specialist.
I hope this answers your query.
