Question : Had whAt I believe was a uti. Had a night of cloudy urine w/some blood. Managed to ease it with water ,cranberry,& D-mannose. Still drinking lots of water. Bloating is gone urinary.e is clear. Yet still some burning at the end of urination & get some vaginal it being on & off.

Hello,

It is probably a urinary tract infection and cranberry juice gives it symptomatic relief. It is not sufficient treatment as one has to confirm diagnosis and detect the organism responsible. It may be bacterial or with the itching and also vaginal discharge, it may be fungal. The definitive treatment is to be decided after identifying the organism by a urine culture and sensitivity.
Untreated or inadequately treated urinary infection can lead to kidney infection or a systemic infection. If is recurrent or chronic it may lead to kidney failure. So it is better to do this simple test and treat appropriately. Also check your blood sugar to know whether you have diabetes which increases the incidence and severity of urinary and genital infections.
