Question : My son in law has had a Pleural Empeyma, and seems to be recovering well. The consultant drained and treat with antibiotics, did a Biopsy of lung wall and gave all clear.
He is going for 9 month check up but says when he inhales their is a coldness ice feeling at top of lung.
Do you think this is anything to worry about? I suppose consultant will x ray or scan .

hi and welcome to hcm
Detailed Answer:
Certain degree of breathing difficulties is expected after such diseases so this is not unusual. It may take several weeks till it heals. So I don't think that this is emergency at this point but if fever, sharp chest pain or worsening of symptoms occur thern xrays should be done and lab tests as well. he should sleep with elevated upper body, avoid smoky areas. If fever occur,he must switch antibiotic. Wish you good health.regards
