Question: my daughter injured her knee Wednesday night playing volleyball, she went up to hit and landed wrong and something popped in her knee. we have been icing, wrap, elevate and taking anti inflammatory. last night and today her foot is tingly and much colder than her other foot. we have not seen the Dr yet, she is scheduled to see them Tuesday. (we did see the physical therapist associated with their practice on Thursday.) we fear something is torn and know that can wait til Tuesday. but am concerned about her foot being so cold

Brief Answer:
Remove wrap,it may be too tight.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Mode of injury you mentioned is unlikely to lead to vessel injury. But symptoms such as coldness of foot and tingling points towards tightness in injured area( around knee) . She is already icing it ,taking Antiinflamatory drugs and elevating it.It is OK. But I fear wrap may be too tight which may be impairing circulation(if too tight) . I think wrap should be removed. Active movements of ankle and foot and toe are advised to improve circulation. How is her pain? How is color of her foot as compare to other? Can someone feel distal pulse in effected limb? You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
