He has had 6 episodes of this condition in the past years on different occasions and is currently going through one such episode after a gap of 6 years since the last episode. In all th earlier cases he has regained his ability to walk and talk after hospitalization for 4 to 5 days. However till date no concrete diagnosation has been given by any of the specialists we have consulted.. the person concerned is currently 55 years old.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to cerebrovascular accidents or strokes

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

After careful consideration of the provided details it seems that he is probably suffering from multiple episodes of cerebrovascular accidents. Small thrombi or clots are probably getting lodged in the blood vessels of the brain causing obstruction to blood flow further down the line. This is incapacitating the brain areas thus leading to the complaints. A CT scan of the brain as well as an echocardiogram (preferably with a Doppler study) should help in confirming the cause behind the ailment. Blood pressure also needs close monitoring. Smoking and drinking, if present, should be discouraged.
