What Causes Cold Sweats, Weakness, Pale Skin And Low Heart Rate?

Question: My wife woke up in a cold sweat, weak feeling, had pale skin, took heart rate and was at 54 but.
Now is feeling better. What happened. She is 58, white, in relative good health. She takes monitor, effexor daily.

These symptoms may be related to vaso vagal reaction which is manifested with fatigue, sweating and pale skin.

In most of the cases vaso vagal reaction is a harmless condition. However I would recommend to do the following examinations to find out what is causing her symptoms:
- Blood work
- Ecg
- Cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring
- Tilt table test
- Chest x-ray
- Abdominal ultrasound
