Question : Hi I had my last period on the 5th January. I had sex on the 11th of January and the condom unfortunately split. I took the morning after pill on the same day. On the 18th of XXXXXXX I started bleeding and I thought my period had come early. However by the next day I doubted that it was my period as the blood was darker, though initially heavy it went lighter as the week went on. However since the 18th I've had consistent abdominal pain. Varies from mild to a point where I'm struggling to sit/stand. I went to an urgent care centre on 21st and their test showed as negative. I've done another test today which is negative. I've started having dizzy spells/headache and nausea and I don't know if this is likely to be pregnancy or severe side effect of pill, though do side effects last this long? Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Due to side effect of pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The bleeding that started on 18th was a withdrawal bleeding due to the effect of the pill. These are high dose hormonal pills and the side effects can last for few weeks. The headache and dizziness that you have can be due to the pill or other causes like anxiety, stress, migraine, hypertension, etc. The persistent pain in the lower abdomen if it is severe then needs to be investigated. Pregnancy is not likely. Your next periods may be delayed by a few days due to the effect of the pill.
