Brief Answer:
Ceftriaxone can be extended for 5 to 7 days

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

As you were prescribed rocephin ( Ceftriaxone) and augmentin, its most likely that you have otitis media. Rocephin is especially given if there is complicated otitis media. If there is any ear discharge, it should ideally be sampled and sent for culture sensitivity testing. 2 shots alone wont suffice especially if the infection is not responding to oral antibiotics. Sometimes, the infection has subsided especially if there is no pain and fever but there is tinnitus or pressure effect present. Decongestants can be advised along with NSAIDs and antihistamines in consult with your ENT doctor after examining your ear. I.V or I.M ceftriaxone can be considered for 5 to 7 days if the infection is not resolving with augmentin.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
