No rash, and two weeks in duration so intense that I cannot sleep or keep up with normal daily activities.

You should start with regular course of oral antihistamines like Benadryl or levocetrizine .
Take this medicine for a week regularly .
Apply calamine lotion over the body .
In case the itching tends to persist even after one week of oral antihistamine therapy ,then you might need a short course of oral steroids .
In that case ,I would advise you to see a dermatologist for complete check up and further treatment .
