Question: My wife is 36. Petite. No history of any surgeries besides c sections and no mess taken for anything other than vitamins. She has had almost constant pain on her lower left side for a week. Tonite she has got a fever as well. I told her she needs Togo to the ER to get a scan done. Trying to figure out what this could be. She also said she feels "bloated" on that side.

Brief Answer:
Needs work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in lower abdomen with bloating and history of c section points either in bowel direction or urinary tract. Bowel involvement is likely if there is constipation or diarrhea and altered bowel habits. Fever may explain more in genitourinary involvement like UTI or vaginitis or cervicitis but that present with urinary discomfort or discharge per vagina. Another less likely possibility of some kidney infection or stone. All these possibilities need to be considered and that is not possible with out a visit to a doctor and running some baseline workups.

Please counsel her to go to hospital for better management of the pain. I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and her and don't forget to close the discussion please.
