default
Posted on Mon, 18 Jul 2016
Question: I'm observing a constant pain around left foot thumb (phalange - found out on googling). This is happening for almost 1-2 months. The pain is very mild and i only feel it when i'm at home or when I pay attention towards it.
I can also see a slight deviation of my foot thumb towards the tows exposing the thumb bone joint even more. Please consult me on what should i do and how severe it is? I have not gone to any doctor till now.

X-rays, clinical evaluation, examination and proper treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi,welcome to HCM..
Thanks for your query and the picture.

Noted your history of mild pain in the base of left great toe which has apparently have deviated a bit. You are feeling pain only when you are at home or when you pay attention to it. This has been going on for about one-two months. There is also slight deviation towards the other toes showing up the joint more.

I would advise you the following:

You need the X-ray of both the feet together (for comparison as seen in the photo you have provided) to get the correct diagnosis.

Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon for further clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to get the correct line of diagnosis and treatment.

I hope this answer helps you to get an early and proper diagnosis and proper treatment too, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Regards
