Question: I was diagnosed with having Costochondritis back in Feb and Mar 2017, I will prescribed to take Diclofenac SOD EC 75MG TABLETS and Dicofenac Sodium Gel 1%. At the beginning the medication seems to be working but now I still have constant pain in my upper rib areas and my back. I get a constant fluttering feeling like I am been poked in my upper ribs, or maybe it could be nerves ending being being affected, majority of the time it's in upper right area and sometime on the left side, below my breast. I have used pain patches and still the constant pain, is their anything else that can help my condition. The pain is getting very ignoring and I don't know what else to do.

Brief Answer:
Oral muscle relaxant will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain that you are having now can be related to costochondritis or a muscle sprain. You need an oral muscle relaxant in addition to the pain killer that you are taking. Do a hot compress in the painful areas and apply the local analgesic gel at least thrice a day.
I hope this answers your query.
