Brief Answer:
Get done chest x ray and 2d echo.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are taking correct drugs for asthma.
So if it is asthma then it must have relieved by now.
But since it is not improving, we should definitely rule out lung infection and heart failure as both these can cause similar symptoms.
So get done
1. Chest x ray to rule out lung infection.
2. 2d echo to rule out heart failure.
Please let me know if you have these tests in the past or not.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I will schedule a chest x-ray this morning. My doctor was confident that I was having asthma problems, she did not want to order an x - ray.
Thank You.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.

Yes, you should definitely get done chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal then get done 2d echo to rule out heart diseases.
If both these are normal then get done fresh PFT (pulmonary function test) to know the severity of asthma.
And treatment of asthma is based on severity only.
