What Causes Constant Right-side Stomach Pain, Cramping And Stress?

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Jun 2016
Question: Hi. Ive had ongoing right sided stomach pain for the past year- all tests normal. Recently within the past week or so i was a little stressed out and ate something that didnt agree with me and now my upper stomach and lower stomach has a pulling cramping sensation like i was kicked in the stomach. Very uncomfortable. I assume this can happen from an upset stomach and stress? Also, I have lost about 13 pounds in 2 months but ive been walking for about an hour a day (sometimes more) and jogging lightly. My doctors say its from execcise the weight loss and ive cut out chocolate and other things and have watched my calories. The weight loss is fine correct? My doctor doesnt want to do more blood work bc we did it a few months ago and it was normal. Thank you

Hi and thank you for asking on HCM.
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows :
1. I need to know which test have you done?
have you done abdominal ultrasound and upper endoscopy?
2. If not than I suggest to do :
-upper endoscopy
- abdominal.ultrasound
3.with regards to the weight loss, yes it can be due to physical activity and your healthy diet.
Your symptoms may be related with:
- stomach flu
- gastritis
-galbladder issues
Otherwise if you have ruled out all of them two months ago, your symptoms may be due to stomach bug.
Meantime I suggest to:
- use PPI'S like prilosec OTC
- use antacids like gaviscon
- eat often and small amount of meal
- avoid unnecessary stress
- avoid spicy and chilly foods
Hope it was helpful to you!

Hi. The kicking pain in the stomach has now subsided but now the lower right sided pain is back. Ive had this issue on and off for about 1 year. Doctors say stress, IBS and muscular. I had an ultra sound lower abdomen months ago which was normal. The pain i have now is like a cramp and sharp pain and feels different or worse in different positioms or when i touch the area. Its annoying bc when i have moments without the pain- i forget how uncomfortable this pain is. Is there anytimg i can do to help this?

Hi back,
You are reporting to have the lower right abdominal pain on and off spastic pain.
These pain characteristics are mostly related with IBS.
To my opinion you can use antispasmodic drugs like butiscopolamine or spasmex to relive your symptoms.
It is really important to avoid stress and increase physical activity.
