Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the area you described could be due to a muscle pull or strain. An MRI scan will help in ruling out any disc related problem or a rotator cuff injury.
Here are some general treatment measures which you can follow:
1) Provide complete rest and avoid overhead activities.
2) Apply cold compresses and take some anti inflammatory pain killer after consulting your doctor.
You can also get some muscle relaxants prescribed in case the pain is persistent. A hot compress and local analgesic gel will also help.
You can also consult a physiotherapist for passive stretching exercises and TENS.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
