Brief Answer:
Peroneal neuropathy possible.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Lower leg tingling is a common manifestation of peripheral neuropathy, damage to a peripheral nerve. Given the distribution the superficial peroneal nerve may be involved. Because of its superficial position below the knee he is vulnerable to trauma and may be damaged from a hit or a prolonged posture. In such cases it is usually transitory, it improves over several weeks. However the diagnosis should be confirmed through nerve conduction studies test and some routine blood tests to exclude other common causes such as diabetes are advisable.

If nerve conduction studies turn out negative then another possible cause to be considered would be varicose veins which is another common cause of such tingling sensations.

Electrolyte alterations or thyroid dysfunction are another less likely possibility which can can be easily excluded by blood tests.
