Question : I am type 1 diabetic with sugars under control. Last A1C was 6.1. I am tired all the time. No energy. Feel bad most of the time. Have for 6 months. Sleep pretty good. At least 6-8 hours a night. Have been on a alkaline diet for the past 4 months. Feel some better head is more clear thinking but still feel bad. Had blood work a month ago. She checked all vitamin levels and was all good. She is consulting with another doctor to see if he might can help. I just want to see if maybe you can shed some light on my problems.

                                    Brief Answer:
Rule out other hormonal conditions
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanks for writing to HCM. Noted the contents. Type 1 diabetes is associated with other autoimmune conditions. Your symptoms can mean that. I suggest you rule out hypocortisolism and hypothyroidism in addition to your present evaluation. You need to do antibody estimation for both along with hormone level analysis. That should throw some light to your worry. Please keep me informed. Take care. Warm regards. Dr XXXXXXX
