Question : I have a constant urge to urinate and only empty a little but I don't have incontinence. Cannot seem to void. Mimics a UTI but isn't. come on suddenly 10 days ago. Burning all the time on the outside of urethra and all along that area (not when I'm urinating, if I even can). 3 cultures for infection and there is none. Doctor wants to treat for overactive bladder.

Hi,

Overactive bladder is also a possibility. Symptoms are not classic for it but sometimes can present this way.

But, other investigations to visualize the whole of genito urinary tract may give some more idea. If you are under the treatment of a Physician, I suggest you to meet Urologist.

I have seen my regular doctor and my gynecologist. She has done 2 exams. Everything looks normal she says.
