Brief Answer:
Can be implantation spotting.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.

As per your query regarding pregnancy.Get a pregnancy test kit from nearest pharmacy and it needs just 2 drops of urine to see whether you are pregnant or not.
Though you are on pills yet success rate of contraception by pills is about 97-98%.
So best way is if you are suspecting get a Urine pregnancy test done initially.
If this brownish pink discharge is from vaginal route then get a ultra sound done asap because some time there is ectopic pregnancy.
In rare cases, brownish-pink discharge can be caused by an ectopic pregnancy. This is when a pregnancy occurs outside of the uterus, most commonly in the fallopian tube. The brownish color occurs because the bleeding is older blood, this is also termed as implantation spotting.

Test recommended-
Urine pregnancy test.
Ultrasound uterus

Just wondering what else it could be? Could it be an infection? Or just spotting?

Brief Answer:
Most likely its Spotting.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Most likely it was just spotting however in case if burning itching or pain in pelvic area appears in few days then it can be infection also.
To be on safe side go for urine microscopic test any infection in genitourinary tract would be reflected in it.
But you can wait and watch for 2-3 days before going for further investigations.

In case things dont settle down in 3 days.
Go for ultrasound and urine microscopy test.
