Posted on Wed, 13 Apr 2016
Question: I've not had a bowel movement in a week, having constant heartburn and indigestion, short term memory loss I'll order a movie on ppv and couple weeks later can't remember if watched or not, seizures every month, sexual dysfunction (15 years), numbness & tingling in legs & arms, vision problems ( eye doctor says glaucoma) , had EGD done and found abnormal inflammatory cells esophagitis but no pylori bacteria, all these symptoms started a long time ago and at same time, they have said I'm not diabetic, I'm just so frustrated about not having any answers even if it was bad news I'd would welcome it! I went a long time ignoring these symptoms and only in the last year or so have I started to address.

Brief Answer:
Gastroenterologist's consultation/ healthy life style changes would help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dreamwever8991,
Thanks for the query through Health care magic.
I have read your query carefully & would suggest following things.
* Your basic problem seems to be constipation which can be due to wrong life style( lack of exercises/ lack of balanced diet ... specially absence of fibers & sufficient water in diet. )/ sluggish bowel movements ( Obesity, diabetes, thyroid problems )/ Some bowel infections/ infestations.
You should consult a gastroenterologist , have detailed examination & investigations to find the basic cause & start specific treatment as well as life style changes.
* the esophageal inflammation is following esophageal regurgitation due to gastric bloating.
* your other complaints like numbness of limbs are due to vitamin deficiency due to hampered absorption ( following constipation )
* your eye problem can be a natural phenomenon after age of 40 / weakness & vitamin A deficiency because of bad absorption of food.
In short what you need is an extensive gastrointestinal assessment/ excluding diabetes, thyroid problem... Get investigations suggested to find the basic cause followed by treatment.
*life style changes should accompany the treatment.
- Regular sleeping & working schedule.
- To form a regular bowel movement habit.
- Have daily regular exercises ( walking/ yoga exercises / abdominal exercises)
- A balanced food with vitamins, minerals, proteins, fibers, sufficient water ( 8-12 glasses )
- Treatment for intestinal infections/ infestations as per advise.
-Treatment for diabetes/ thyroid if advised.
- Dietary/ medicinal supplements for the nutritional deficiencies you had developed .
I feel this way, a proper assessment, investigations, treatment with ideal life style your problem can be managed well.
Hope, the answer was both informative & useful for you. Any follow up query is welcome.
I request for grading the answer before you close... in case you find it helping.
Thanks.
