Question : Hello Doctor

My son is 3.5 yrs Old but have difficulty in doing potty.

As its very hard and he do once is two days.

He is very poor eater don't like to eat anything.

He coughs badly in the night 1 am or 3 am ..

Kindly help me what to do. As every month i have to take him to doctor and they give him antibiotics.

Don't worry.

Give him more of fibres in the diet- whole fruits, mashed potato ,bread ,whole wheat chappathis, vegetables ,greens etc.

Also give lot of fluids

Check his thyroid status (T3 T4 TSH) in blood.

Do not worry if it does not cause him discomfort!

Regular night cough it is due to blocked nose and post nasal drip.

Use otrivin pediatric nose drops in the night before sleeping

No need for antibiotics monthly unless there is fever or signs of infection.
