Brief Answer:
detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and wlecome to HCM,

I understand your problem. Please do not worry.

The food and the wind pipe are seperate. Accidental entry of the food in the wind pipe sometimes precipitates a bout of cough. Also sometimes if the cough is severe then there may be associated vomiting called post tussive vomit.

You have not mentioned if you had any sputum or vomiting. Also if the tablet was expelled then most likely you would have noticed it.

So please check to see if any of the above happened - If you vomited or had plenty of sputum. If none of these happened then the tablet is probably inside your system.

Also even if one pill is not taken properly, it does not make much of a difference. However the remaining ones must be taken strictly as prescribed to be effective.

If your feel the pill may be in the food pipe and did not go down, just have a glass of water.

So please do not worry.

Take care.
Hope this satisfies your query.

No there was no sputum or vomiting just a bit of choking I looked around the area and didn't the pill so am assuming it was swallowed as I managed to put it in mh mouth and swallow half a glass of water before I started coughing. This has happened a few times when I take the pill but I shouldn't have anything to worry about? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Welcome back,

Detailed Answer:
There is no need to worry about it.

However if this is happening repeatedly then please check the method of taking the pill. Do not place it too far behind on the tongue before swallowing as this initiates a reflex called the gag reflex. This causes coughing and choking. Just place it in the middle of your tongue and drink water to gulp it down.

With this you should not have any issues.
Have a good day and feel free for any further queries.
