Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

Cough associated with metallic after taste(suggesting purulent sputum) usually indicate a bacterial respiratory tract infection, especially with given history of severe reflex in the past few days.Failure to respond to ventolin syrup(contains broncho dilator) rules out asthma as the cause.
This need antibiotics and antihistamines for a few days.In such situations,I usually give antibiotics like Levofloxacin/azithromycin/amoxicillin+clavulonate for 5-7 days.Your doctor will guide you.Kindly get an appointment without delay.

Meanwhile, try to keep away from cold/dusty atmosphere.

Hope this will answer your query.
I will be happy to help if you have further questions.
Wishing for a faster cure.
Thank you.
