What Causes Cough, Sore Throat, And Runny Nose And How Should It Be Treated?

Question: Hello doctor,
I have been having cough from around 3-4 days. The cough is very high at night and in the morning when I wake up. When I cough in morning I feel to puke at that time as well. There is lot of irritation in throat at the time of cough and even runny nose when cough arises.please advise

Hello!

I have read your query in detail and understand your concern.

You seem to be suffering from URTI and this resolves usually in 5-7 days with treatment. My recommendations for you would be to see your doctor and discuss my treatment option with him.

I usually recommend in such cases:

1. An antibiotic like Azithromycin once a day for 3 days.
2. An anti allergic like a combination of Levocetrzine and Montelukast once daily in night for 7 days.
3. A bronchodilator like Syrup Asthakind Exp to be taken thrice a day for 5-7 days.
4. Do steam inhalation.
