Posted on Thu, 19 Jun 2014
Question: I have cramps in both legs and at times tingling pain. Tests have shown my veins are normal. The situation persists notwithstanding B12 injections, which I stated to receive weekly over the last 2 weeks. I also experience nausea, heaviness in the legs all the way up and general imbalance or lightheaded XXXXXXX Is this all due to iron deficiency or might be other causes or things I should look into?

Iron deficiency can cause a multitude of symptoms. Sometimes it is associated with significant anemia. Other times it can cause leg cramps and restless legs at night. Again it is important for us to review what what tests have been done prior to now.

B12 injections are definitely indicated in a setting of B12 deficiency. Otherwise the B12 injections do not provide significant benefit. I would encourage you to discuss this with your doctor.
