Question : iv had what seems to be transleuscent looking tiny spiders undrer my skin they feel like they are drilling holes in my skull and they move rather quickly threw my body they itch like crazy iv been to several docs who say its nothing but scabbies heres some cream and nthey send me home.well the cream is not working and the antibiotics are not either. They respond to various thing like alcohol, viniger, peroxide, and iodine. I have removed several parts from my skin, legs, wings, and even whole bugs. No one belives we have parasites in North XXXXXXX but there are. Please help me.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern.

Only a few arthropod infestations are of significance in humans - louse (lice), mite (scabies mite) or blood-sucking bugs (bed bugs) and rarely ticks and fleas.

The diagnosis is mainly clinical and treatment is usually quite effective.

However, other skin conditions e.g prurigo, neurodermatitis etc may be confused with common parasitic infestations like scabies and therefore warrants attention in those who do not respond to usual parasitic treatments.
