What Causes Cyst With Yellowish Head On Labia Majora?

Question: my wife has a large pea shaped growth( Barthollin cyst) in the lower rt area what looks like the labia majora. It has developed what appears to be a yellowish head on the top of the cyst. Will frequent sits baths, warm compresses be of help.She is just getting over a vaginitis. This was treated with an ointment. Keep sitting she is a youthful 79. thank you

The appearance of a yellowish head on the top of the cyst is likely to be due to a Bartholin's cyst. Frequent Sitz bath and warm compresses will help. She can take a mild pain killer to care of any pain.
In case the pain and swelling are increasing then systemic antibiotics are needed after consulting her gynecologist to control the infection.
