What Causes Dark Bumps On Bikini Line?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: Hi. I have had these two dark almost purple like bumps on my bikini line for around 5 months. They huet at first and every now and again my underwear would run it wrong way. Today when I was changing my clothes I noticed a while where they are. Very small maybe the size of a pin tip. It had stuff seeping out of it. I then decided to squeeze it. A clear creaming liguid came out at first. Now it's orangish looking? Should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Folliculitis with fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Thanks for the pictures .
You seem to have developed chronic folliculitis over the groin region .
Keep the affected area clean and dry .
Wash the affected area with lukewarm saline water twice daily.
Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the lesion twice daily.
You might need a course of oral antibiotics if the lesion still tends to persist or increase .
Also I can see some focus of fungal infection in the region causing excessive dryness and scaling .
Once these active lesions settle down with antibiotic application ,start using a topical antifungal cream like clotrimazole over the groin region twice daily and use it continously for two weeks for complete relief .

Hope it helps
Please ask if you need any further clarifications
