What Causes Dark Circles Around The Eyes?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Oct 2017
Question: I feel like my shoulders are getting more narrow and there are dark circles above my eyes. I was thinking of getting a thyroid panel done. Does that make sense? Also, I had my calcium levels checked and they were fine. Please let me know your thoughts

Brief Answer:
Yes, an overactive thyroid should be excluded:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
If you mean you have lost weight (shoulders getting more narrow) of course an over active thyroid should be excluded. It can be manifested also with psychological problems (depression).
So, in your case i do agree to check a thyroid function. I would suggest to check;
-TSH, FT4 and Ft3 hormones.
Will be a pleasure to help you further after the above results.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
