What Causes Dark Spots On The Left Side Of The Scrotum?

Question: I have had a small dark spot show up on the left side of my Scrodum this week......It is looks like a small raised mole, maybe filed with blood and is about 1/8" across....There is only one spot but it is tender to the touch.......Any idea what this spot might be????
