Question : What6 causes darkened skin if not Addison's disease. I also have dropping blood pressure and severe itching

Brief Answer: Photo-sensitization,post radiotherapy,eczema dark Detailed Answer: Hi, Welcome to XXXXXXX If your darkened skin is confined to exposed areas then your problem could be due to photo-sensitization (Hypersensitivity to Sun light). Drugs taken by would have induced this type of hypersensitivity. Wearing protective clothes or covering the face and usage of sun-screening lotions will help you. Itching also sometimes may be associated with photo-sensitization. If you had radiotherapy that area and adjacent area could be darkened. Chronic Eczema also sometimes may be a cause of darkening of skin associated with itching. Consult a Dermatologist and he/she will guide you for the treatment. Dr S XXXXXXX
