Brief Answer:
It could be degenative vertebral column disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The pain related to knee arthritis should not be irradiated above the knee, it should be located to the knee or below it.

Pain in the groin area irradiating down the leg could be related to pinched nerve at its exit from vertebral column ( degenative column, or herniated disc disease strongly related to arthritis), or could be related to Meralgia Paresthetica ( nerve compressed during its way).

Ibuprofen should improve the pain mainly if it is related to degenerative column or disc disease.

In my opinion, you need to discuss your concerns with your treating Doctor, and have done imaging studies of your lumbar vertebral column ( x-rays, MRI), as well as nerve conduction study ( EMG), in order to have a correct diagnosis. Treatment is related upon the diagnosis.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
