Brief Answer:
wait for another few days

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Most common physiological reason for delayed periods are as follows -
- stress which can be professional or domestic
- acute diarrhea or fever
- missing meals over a long duration
- new exercise schedule
And there can be some pathology in pelvic organs and most common reason is ovarian cyst.
But as you stated that you get delay in periods twice before this, it seems its just an incidental problem and will be fine soon.
Wait for another couple of days and I'm sure you will get your periods in a while.
In case you have slightest doubt of pregnancy then do a urine pregnancy test and see the result.
I hope I have answered your query properly.
Wish you the best of health.

Brief Answer:
pain abdomen and irregular periods

Detailed Answer:
Ovarian cyst can cause irregular periods and off and on pain lower abdomen.
But usually it is an incidental finding.
So in case this irregular period pattern persists then get an ultrasound lower abdomen to see for the ovarian cyst or endometrial lining.

Thank you for your answers. I was doubting pregnancy last month and when I had my periods it was quite low and even I finished faster then expected. Can I still be pregnant???

Brief Answer:
yes chances of pregnancy are still there

Detailed Answer:
Yes dear, in case you had suspicion of pregnancy last month and then got light periods after that then definitely there is risk of pregnancy because many a times there are light periods despite of a live pregnancy in utero or worse in fallopian tubes.
So just do a urine pregnancy test and in case negative then wait for your periods.
In case you still don't get them after a week then I will advise you progesterone for withdrawal bleeding.
All the best.

Hi, I did my home pregnancy test and it came negative this morning. Went to the doctor and she suggested beta HCG, she said if she can't detect pregnancy there she will give me medicines to start my periods and rule out I have PCOS. I am definitely expecting to get pregnant an have another baby, does this effect my fertility? Also in my last pregnancy the HCG was low but through a scan my pregnancy was detected. Should I go for a second opinion as well. Thanks for all your help

Brief Answer:
bHCG test is a must

Detailed Answer:
BHCG is a decision making test because if the pregnancy is there then it will surely tell us the presence by increased levels of hormones so you can continue with the same gynecologist and let's hope for the best.
But I don't think that there is a pregnancy and that this delay is rather due to PCOD factor but since you are desirous of pregnancy so this test is still worth a try.
These biochemical pregnancies have no side effects on your future fertility but can create mental disturbance in your life because of budding and dying hopes.
So from next cycle onwards get a follicular study for monitoring of ovulation and try meticulously.
I basically practice infertility so you can ask me any aspect of chances and difficulties of conception directly on health care magic forum.
Take care
