                                    Brief Answer:
Mostly it is due to raised serotonin level
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for choosing HCM
Ejaculation is delayed because SSRI enhance level of Serotonin in brain and ejaculatory centre, cause inhibition of ejaculation. Yes, sometimes viagra can help and you can try but you have to focus on pleasure only.
Another option can be taking cyproheptadine 4 mg before sex for its anti serotonin action. Discuss all about this your doctor.

Thanks for your answer...in regard to cyproheptadine 4 mg antihistamine would this interfere with the therapuetic effect that I am getting from the citalopram (depression and anxiety reduction) if i was to use it ounce or twice a week? I have taken antihistamines before and are familiar with the sedating groggy side effects but would not like to return to having the labile mood that i suffered prior to the ssri.

Think of alternative modes
Detailed Answer:
Hello
If you felt groggy with cyproheptadine, you can discuss with your psychiatrist either to switch to MAO inhibitor or add Bupropion/ Methyphenidate to raise your dopamine level.

Thanks again for your reply...i think that perhaps you missunderstood my question...aside from the groggy effect that i have experienced from periactin when used for a completely different reason when not on a ssri. My question is directed directly in relation to ......... Now that i am on the ssri do you think that if i used the periactin 4mg ounce or twice a week (disregarding the sedating effect of the antihistamine) while on the ssri, could i experience interference with the theraupuetic effect of the citalopram as you mentioned that the periactin has an anti seratonin action?
clarification the question is- if i took periactin a couple times a week for sex could i expect interference in the positive effect that i am getting from the citalopram?
thanks for your help
