What Causes Delayed Menstruation After Taking Tabocine?
Question: Hi
i am an XXXXXXX female - 28 years old - unmarried
I have been on Tabocine 100 (doxycycline hyclate capsules) since 12 days now for acne. my acne has reduced.
but my periods were supposed to come two days back and it still has not. so i am two days late
additional info : my periods never come late,they always come in 27-28 days without fail.
i have a very important busy and hectic trip coming up in 7 days. So i really wanted to get over with this periods before my trip as i will travelling the whole time.
so i was wondering if i should stop taking these capsules for few days , and if this will help my periods to come. i really need my periods to come and finish before the trip. also i am worried, if i stop these capsules suddenly, will it cause any outbreak in acne ?

Menstrual cycle is regulated by hormonal levels and it can be disturbed by stress, anxiety, lifestyle changes, diet changes, infection and pregnancy.
So in your case the chances of delayed menses can be due to hormonal disturbance ( as you are having acne).
If you stop taking doxycycline abruptly it may flare up your acne problem. ( I know your period maybe delayed due to doxycycline also).
So in my opinion you can only postponed your menses by taking progesterone preparation for your next week hectic shedule.
For it you can consult your treating Gynecologist because it is a prescription drug.
And for now you should take healthly and nutritious diet, drink a lot of water, do yoga and meditation, take adequate sleep.
