My periods are delayed by ten days- very regular otherwise- home pregnancy tests are negative- 3 times- am 42 years old

As the pregnancy tests are negative then this delay is just because of physiological delay in periods during perimenopausal transition which is a strong possibility at 42 years of age.
Wait for another week and in case you still don't get your periods take progesterone tablets for withdrawal of periods after consulting a gynecologist aa they are available on prescription.
