Question : Hi...I took the plan b one step pill immediately after I found that my boyfriend and I had an accident (condom got stuck inside after he had finished)...to be accurate, about an hour and a half afterward. It took about 6 days to get my period and it lasted for 5 days ( my normal cycle is 7). My breasts are still sore and there is still light cramping, and I feel sleepy sometimes...I'm scared. Is this a normal side effect of the pill even after the period has shown up?

Brief Answer:
These symptoms are most likely due to Plan B.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Plan B can sometimes cause temporary hormonal changes in the body resulting in such symptoms that you have and it is normal.

Relax. Don't be anxious. Any stress ( physical or mental) can also cause hormonal changes.
These symptoms will gradually subside in few days.
I hope this helps.
If you have further concerns, do write to me. I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
