Question : Hi I am married,my period cycle is not regular from past there months.it's been 1 month 20 days got my periods, I did 2 pregnancy tests both are negative. as there is a pre- planned pilgrimage trip which cannot be postponed I want my periods to be postponed. I consulted doctor and she said my weight gain is the reason for my delay in periods and asked me to use meprate tablets for ten days,is it safe to use meprate tablets,if I use this how long I should not get pregnant,is there any side effects using these tablets

Meprate tablets contain progesterone.

In normal menstrual cycle when progesterone levels decrease in the body then only bleeding will start.

When we take this tablets , it helps in maintaining the levels of progesterone. So period will postpone till we continue this tablets.

You can continue this tablets till the date you want to postpone your period.

With in a week you will get your periods after stopping tablets.

No side effects due to this tablets.

You can try for baby in your next cycle only . No effects on pregnancy.
